A welcome to our new Headteacher

Fir Vale School welcomes Simon Hawkins as Headteacher.  Mr Hawkins joins the school from Titus Salt School, a large secondary school in Bradford where he was Deputy Headteacher for several years.

Simon Hawkins said, “Thank you to all the pupils, parents, carers and colleagues who have welcomed me to the school.  I feel privileged to lead such a caring, inclusive and ambitious school.  Our promise is simple but powerful: a guarantee we do all we can to ensure each pupil leaves as a well-educated young adult with confidence, aspiration,
self-esteem and an eager readiness to embark on their next steps.”

Fir Vale School is becoming an increasingly popular first choice and has over 1000 pupils on roll.  In June 2015, the school was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted and the DfE confirmed that the school’s 2017 summer progress results were statistically significantly higher than average.
