Fir Vale School celebrated School Science Week 2018. To add some fun to the week our theme was: “Exploration and Discovery!”
Pupils enjoyed participating in a wide range of activities based around science, curiosity, exploration, investigation and teamwork including:
producing 3D glasses to watch a space show;
designing and making pencil rockets to land on Mars (some pupils got closer than NASA!);
name the Scientist competition;
the launch of our new STEM club;
investigating the science of bubbles and compressed air rockets with pupils from Hucklow primary school; and
Year 10 pupils won the "Best Innovation Award" at a city wide science competition: pupils designed a space
hotel and presented their ideas in Spanish to Language students from Sheffield University.
Dr Rehman, Director of Learning for Science said:
